RSA token number while logging at Income Tax Return portal: Know about it
For complying with the income tax provision, one needs not only Income Tax Law but also the technical side of the internet and e-system. Right from XML, DSC, Version of windows & internet, etc, there are various things which taxpayers have to get acquainted with.
The latest one is RSA token which is asked by the portal on various occasions while one attempts to login. It is not needed on all the logging but needed occasionally when the activity appears little suspicious to the portal. Let us know about it.
1. RSA stands for “Request Service Acceptance”.
2. This is required as a password for login.
3. It could be any of the following as under:
a) It is normally the PAN numerical digits followed by your date of birth or date of incorporation.
For example, if the PAN number is like abcde1234a and date of birth or date of incorporation is 26/01/1995 then the RSA token number shall be – 123426011995
b) It alternatively could be the four digital of the PAN followed by the captcha security code as is displayed at the time of login.
For example, if the PAN number is like abcde1234a and captcha code is EK87AG then the RSA token number shall be – 1234 EK87AG
