A welcome Move: Tamil Nadu GST Department instructed officers to follow SOP for new GST Registration & send the Welcome letter on New Registration

 

Tamil Nadu GST Department has issued a Circular No.4 2024 – TNGST-PP2-GST-15-29-2024 dated 16.05.2024 published on 22nd May 2024 titled

“Tamil Nadu GST- Newly registered taxpayers- SOP (standard operating procedures) to be followed- Welcome letter to be sent by territorial Joint commissioners -guidelines issued-regarding”.

It’s a welcome move and a learning time for other state GST departments to follow as various state Government GST departments are literally harassing the taxpayers on new registration and taking even more than 1 months for granting the registration certificate with rejection in various cases as well.

Hope Tamil Nadu GST department makes them realise the importance of businessmen in the growth of the economy and region.
