An option to file online Rectification Applications with the AO
The Income Tax Department has launched the much-awaited option on the Income Tax portal, i.e., online filing of Rectification Applications. These online applications will greatly benefit taxpayers whose applications have been pending for a long time.
Earlier, such applications did not create a Worklist on the Assessing Officers’ portal. However, with this online system, applications will be directly mapped to the Assessing Officers’ login, enabling the monitoring of pending applications at any given time. Consequently, this monitoring will facilitate the early disposal of applications.
The same is available at the income tax portal wherein taxpayers can click “Services” – Rectification option.
