Contract to Infosys for Rs. 4242 Cr & a great reply to an Application under RTI

An RTI application was filed seeking information with regard to the

  1. List of companies took part in tender process for new portal
  2. Amount quoted by all eligible bidders and
  3. Term and conditions of the contract.

An excellent reply to the said RTI is attached hereunder for the appreciation of the taxpayers of the country. Hope, all the readers of this reply would appreciate the response given.

The quality of the reply, the spirit with which it is replied, the purpose of RTI, all need to be reviewed. Let us hope that someday we will have a more matured administration who will reply in a more matured manner with its true spirit.

After reading the reply, one can just whisper two line that

“The Integrated E-filing and CPC2.0 project cost was determined through an open tender based on the L1 criteria. The tender was published on Central Public Procurement Portal (CPPP)”

and we are not here to reply to anything else.

Really, taxpayers of the country want to know about the amount quoted by all the bidders. It is beyond everyone’s understanding as to why the well settled, smoothly operated existing portal of the income tax department has been scrapped without any demand as such. Why so much trial and error are carried out on the taxpayers?

Why are the taxpayers getting penalized by this new portal which is not running smoothly even after a month of its launch.
