Only 23.04% of the taxpayers have filed their GSTR-9 as on 30.09.2020

In reply to RTI filed by A Citizen of India, GSTN has provided the information on the number of taxpayers who have their filed GSTR-9 & 9C for the FY 2018-19 as on 30.09.2020. The number is surprisingly very low. Only 23.04% of the taxpayers have filed their GSTR-9 as on 30.09.2020. (NOTE: Extension tweet came only @12.15pm)

Further, For the FY 2017-18 around 3.55 Lakh & 4.15 Lakh Taxpayers have not filed their GSTR-9 & 9c respectively till date.. 😳
