No physical submission! File TDS / TCS Return Online using Aadhaar
At your office, without any visit or documents forwarding, one can file the TDS/TCS return now. Everything is getting system driven and paperless.
A system has been introduced whereby one can file TDS & TCS Returns, both regular as well as Correction Statements, through the Income Tax e-Filing portal through Aadhaar authentication. This system is already there while filing income tax returns where nothing is required to be submitted physically now.
What are the Pre-requisites for availing this facilities:
- The E-Returns are to be filed online at https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home
- TAN has to be registered at TRACES site i.e., https://www.tdscpc.gov.in wherein linking the Aadhaar of the authorized person is required.
- Aadhaar should be linked with the mobile number as the OTP is forwarded on the Adhar Registered mobile number.
How to do It:
- Prepare the .FVU which is required to be uploaded.
- Login to https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in using the TAN, Password, etc.
- After successful login for the TAN, deductor has to provide the following information:
a) FVU Version No. – make sure the Return is validation with the latest version of FVU failing which the Return will not be accepted
b)FA Year i.e., Financial Accounting Year - c)Form Number i.e., one need to select the TDS / TCS Form type (24Q, 26Q, 27Q, 27EQ)
- d)Quarter i.e., Select the quarter for which Return is being filed
- e)Upload Type i.e., whether the return is Regular or Correction (please select)
- f)RRR No. (Original & Previous) i.e., it need to be provided only for Correction Statement
- g)Select the .FVU from its location that needs to be uploaded
- h)Once the form is complete, click to generate the OTP No. This will be delivered as a SMS on the registered mobile of the authorized person of the TAN.
- i)Enter the OTP correctly and proceed for completing the submission / filing process
One has to ensure that the .FVU file matches all the information as specified. Error will result in rejection at the time of submission.
