Get Ready for E-Way Bill & System for Verification of Vehicle number in EWB Portal in GST

E-Way bill system is all set to create an inter portal connectivity with ‘VAAHN” database of the RTO which can verify the vehicle data on a real time basis now.

E-Way bill has been integrated with “Vahan System” of RTO. Department.
Vehicle number entered in e-way bill will now be directly verified with the Vahan System. If Vehicle number is not available in the Vahan system then user will get an instant messenger ‘Alert Message’ about the non-availability of vehicle number in vahan database and thereafter such vehicle numbers will not be allowed for the generation of e-way bill.
If the vehicle number entered in the EWB is not available in Vahan Database then an alert message in the form of “Check and Update the vehicle registration with your concerned Regional Transport Office (RTO)” will be displayed and after sometime this vehicle number will not be allowed to be used for e-way bill generation.www.TheTaxTalk.com
In case, Vehicle number entered in the e-waybill is registered and system still displays the ‘Alert Message’ then the owner would be required to reach to concerned RTO & not the GST Department as the system of vehicle registration is linked with RTO. In such cases, oOce the vehicle details are updated in Vahan system, the status in e-Way bill system, it will besubsequently get updated.
In case the Vehicle number is with temporary registration as in case of newly purchases vehicle, the details cannot be verified through “VAHAN”. In such cases, one can enter the temporary number starting with TR.
E-Way bill system will accept the details of Vehicle number that are shown in Vahan website.
If e-way bill portal shows the vehicle number as not in existence then one can also contact the RTO as well as E-way bill Helpdesk at 1800 103 4786 or https://selfservice.gstsystem. in/
and can submit grievance with the details of Vehicle number which is there in Vahan system but not available in e-way bill portal. The issue will be resolved. www.TheTaxTalk.com
